Conoscenza della lingua francese a livello B2. Aver superato tutte le componenti (scritto e orale) dell’esame di lingua francese 2.

È richiesta la frequentazione del modulo A dello stesso insegnamento nello stesso anno accademico per poter convalidare l’esame di lingua francese 3.

The attendance of module A of the same teaching in the same academic year is required in order to validate the French language exam 3.

OBIETTIVI

AIMS

1. Obiettivi formativi.

• L’esame di lingua francese 3 modulo B “Analisi comparativa di grandi opere letterarie e la loro trasposizione cinematografica” fornisce agli studenti la capacità di comprendere ed analizzare i rapporti esistenti tra un’opera letteraria e la sua trasposizione al cinema. Il corso fornirà loro gli strumenti necessari per l’analisi filmica. Dovranno essere in grado di differenziare la narrazione del regista e paragonarla alla struttura narrativa del romanzo adattato. Dal confronto tra i due supporti, gli studenti potranno evidenziare ed approfondire le differenze al livello artistico nonché le specificità del linguaggio cinematografico. In una laurea come LINFO, questa proposta che prende come supporto il cinema viene a completare l’uso delle tecnologie informatiche e telematiche. In particolare lo strumento informatico verrà usato per il taglio in sequenze.

2. Risultati di apprendimento attesi.

Coerentemente con gli obiettivi formativi del Corso di Studio questo modulo si propone di fornire allo studente le seguenti conoscenze e abilità:

- Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione: Al termine del corso lo studente dovrà possedere una buona conoscenza dell’analisi filmica e essere in grado di analizzare un’opera cinematografica in sequenze coerenti. Il confronto tra il film e l’opera letteraria adattata lo porterà a riflettere sulle differenze espressive ed artistiche di due opere che si basano sulla stessa trama. L’ancoraggio storico, sociale e culturale delle opere analizzate li porterà ad ampliare aspetti importanti della società francese.

- Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione: Al termine del corso lo studente dovrà essere in grado di comprendere, analizzare, commentare i documenti studiati, mettendoli in relazione con il contesto storico, sociale e culturale dimostrando di avere acquisiti adeguate competenze nell’ambito dell’analisi filmica mettendola a confronto con la struttura del testo letterario anche utilizzando strumenti informatici adeguati.

- Autonomia di giudizio: Nell’ambito del programma trattato, si incoraggiano gli studenti ad affrontare i documenti e testi oggetto di studio con una certa autonomia critica di giudizio e analisi, purché circostanziata da evidenze linguistiche, filmiche e testuali e da eventuale ricerca autonoma di materiale critico soprattutto con l’ausilio di strumenti informatici e telematici.

- Abilità comunicative: Lo studente sarà chiamato a dimostrare di poter argomentare efficacemente con competenze linguistiche appropriate nei settori specializzati studiati su testi, film e documenti analizzati ed appresi a lezione, ed elaborati nello studio individuale. Inoltre dovrà essere in grado di saper scegliere sia all’orale che allo scritto le procedure più funzionali per raggiungere una comunicazione calibrata in funzione delle caratteristiche specialistiche delle situazioni di comunicazione tematiche.

- Capacità di apprendere: Lo studente dovrà mostrare di saper utilizzare il materiale bibliografico e sitografico consigliato e organizzare autonomamente e/o in collaborazione lo studio, in particolare con l’aiuto di fonti informatiche e telematiche autorevoli, per approfondire gli argomenti in programma, creare mappe concettuali o altre forme di sintesi che rendano efficace e attivo l’apprendimento.

1. Educational objectives.

The French language exam 3 module B "Comparative analysis of great literary works and their cinematographic transposition" provides students with the ability to understand and analyse the relationships between a literary work and its transposition to the cinema. The course will provide them with the tools necessary for film analysis. They will have to be able to differentiate the director's narration and compare it to the narrative structure of the adapted novel. From the comparison between the two supports, the students will be able to highlight and deepen the differences at the artistic level as well as the specificity of the cinematographic language. In a degree like LINFO, this proposal that takes cinema as a support completes the use of informatic and telematic technologies. In particular, the informatic tools will be used for cutting into sequences.

2. Learning outcomes.

In line with the educational objectives of the Study Program the course aims to provide students with the following knowledge and skills:

- Knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course students must have a good knowledge of film analysis and be able to analyse a film in coherent sequences. The comparison between the film and the adapted literary work will lead them to reflect on the expressive and artistic differences of two works that are based on the same plot. The historical, social and cultural background of the analysed works will lead them to enlarge important aspects of French society.

- Applying knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course students must be able to understand, analyse and comment the documents studied, relating them to their historical, social and cultural context demonstrating that they have acquired adequate skills in the field of film analysis also using appropriate informatic tools.

- Making judgements: Within the framework of the program, students are encouraged to deal with the documents and texts to be studied with a certain critical autonomy of judgment and analysis, provided it is substantiated by linguistic, filmic and textual evidence and possible independent research of critical material especially with the aid of informatic and telematic tools.

- Communication skills: Students will be asked to demonstrate that they can effectively argue with appropriate linguistic skills in the specialized areas studied on documents (films and novels) analysed and learned in class, and elaborated in individual study. Moreover, they must be able to choose both the oral and written procedures, the most functional procedures to achieve a communication calibrated according to the specialized characteristics of the thematic communication situations.

- Learning skills: Students will have to show they are able to use the recommended bibliographic and website material and organize the study autonomously and / or in collaboration, in particular with the help of authoritative computer and telematic sources, to widen their knowledge in the topics of the program, to create concept maps or other forms of synthesis which make learning effective and active.

Analisi comparativa di grandi opere letterarie francesi e la loro trasposizione cinematografica

In questo modulo si tratta di analizzare in modo comparativo grandi opere letterarie e la loro trasposizione cinematografica. Abbiamo scelto opere brevi per non rendere difficile la lettura. Più versioni cinematografiche di una stessa opera letteraria possono essere proposte.

Lavoro proposto agli studenti:

Lettura dell’opera e presentazione di un capitolo particolare, e poi commento della sequenza corrispondente sullo schermo del computer.

• La classe-Entre les murs, film di Laurent Cantet, 2008, tratto dal romanzo di François Begaudeau (2006);
• L'armée des ombres, film di Jean-Pierre Melville, 1969, tratto dal romanzo eponimo de Joseph Kessel (1943);
• Le trou, film di Jacques Becker, 1960, tratto dal romanzo di José Giovanni (1957).

Comparative analysis of French great literary works and their cinematographic transposition

In this module, it is a matter of comparatively analysing great literary works and their cinematographic transposition. We have chosen short works not to make reading difficult. Several cinematographic versions of the same literary work can be proposed.

Work proposed to students:

Reading of the novel and presentation of a particular chapter, and then commenting on the corresponding sequence on the computer screen.

Presentation and analysis of the cinematographic transpositions of these novels:

1. Metodi didattici:

Lezioni frontali con utilizzo di film, testi letterari (i cui film proposti sono l’adattamento), file multimediali, lettura, commento di testi specialistici e di siti web. Analisi a confronto di sequenze filmiche e capitoli di romanzi.

Lectures, film screenings, PowerPoint presentations, multimedia files use, comment of specialized texts and websites.Analysis comparing film sequences and chapters of novels.

2. Modalità e criteri di verifica dei risultati dell'apprendimento:

- Esame scritto, uno solo per i moduli A e B, della durata di quattro ore che prevede un dettato e un riassunto di un testo (circa 800 parole) da un terzo a un quarto.

La prova scritta può essere sostenuta prima o dopo l’esame orale. Tuttavia, l’esito insufficiente dello scritto non preclude la possibilità di sostenere l’orale.

- Esame orale che consiste in 2 colloqui della durata di circa 20 minuti uno sui contenuti del programma di lettorato l’altro su quello del modulo (commento e analisi in lingua francese di documenti specialistici con eventuale traduzione).

Gli studenti frequentanti avranno la possibilità di sostenere l’esame orale di lettorato e l’esame orale del modulo durante o alla fine delle lezioni sotto forma di esonero.

Criteri di valutazione: Per ottenere un voto complessivo tra il 27 e il 30 e lode studentesse e studenti dovranno:

• possedere e saper comunicare una visione organica dei temi affrontati a lezione e/o studiati sui manuali e i testi critici;
• dimostrare una eccellente capacità di argomentazione orale e scritta;
• servirsi con competenza del linguaggio specialistico relativo alle tecnologie dell’informazione e della comunicazione.
• La lode è riservata a prove particolarmente brillanti.

Una votazione tra il 23 e il 26 sarà attribuita a chi dimostrerà:

• una buona conoscenza del programma;
• una buona proprietà di linguaggio con qualche incertezza nell’esposizione e/o imprecisione nell’uso del linguaggio specialistico.

Una valutazione appena sufficiente (tra il 18 e il 22) sarà il risultato di:

• una conoscenza accettabile ma sommaria del programma;
• una comprensione superficiale dei testi e una limitata capacità di analisi;
• un’espressione sufficiente ma non sempre appropriata anche nell’uso dei termini specialistici.

Scarsa conoscenza e comprensione dei contenuti del programma, incapacità di stabilire collegamenti, espressione scritta e orale scorretta o inappropriata daranno luogo a una valutazione negativa.

2. Methods and criteria for verification of learning outcomes:

- Written test (4 hours). Only one for both modules A and B, which includes a dictation and a summary of a passage (of about 800 words).

The written test can be taken before or after the oral examination. However, a mark below standard of the written examination does not prevent the possibility of taking the oral one. Official registration of the exam will be only possible when both parts are passed.

- Oral exam consists of 2 interviews lasting about 20 minutes each one: the first on the program of lectorship and the second on the program of the module (comment and analysis in French of specialized documents with possible translation).

Attending students will have the opportunity to take the oral exam of lectorship and the oral exam of the module during or at the end of the lessons in the form of exoneration.

Assessment Criteria.To be awarded a final mark between 27 and 30 students are expected to:

• possess and be able to present thorough and organic knowledge of the topics discussed in class and/or the set readings;
• show an excellent standard of both written and verbal expression and argumentation;
• demonstrate proper use of the technical language of literary criticism.
• A 30 cum laude may be given in case of outstanding performance.

A mark between 23 and 26 will be awarded to students who will show:

• good knowledge of the course contents;
• a good standard of verbal and written expression (with occasional minor flaws in the presentation and/or the use of technical language) in terms of organisation, fluency, and presentation.

Students obtaining a mark between 18 and 22 will typically display:

• adequate but superficial knowledge of the contents;
• a basic understanding of the texts and a limited ability to analyse them;
• an acceptable standard of expression, with a reasonably competent, although not always accurate, use of technical language.

Inadequate knowledge of the set texts and course topics, inaccurate and inappropriate verbal and written expression with significant problems in the use of technical language will result in a fail.
