Contemporary Art Lm A 2022/2023

The course is divided in two parts: a general introduction on contemporary art and a focus on Rome. The first part of the course provides an overview of the western art scene from post war experiences until present days, with particular attention on key terms and issues that shape the notion of contemporary visual languages. 

A monographic course on Rome between the two wars will be conducted through on site visits, and appointments for on-site classes will be communicated ahead. Please note that there might be tickets to be purchased for the on five scheduled site classes.

As part of the course students will be invited to produce a paper on an artist active in Rome between 1920-1970, to be handed in before the exam session.
