Medieval Art (ELECTIVE COURSES)
The course aims to delve into specific aspects of medieval art in Rome between the 4th and 14th centuries. In particular, the relationships with other Mediterranean cities (Constantinople/Byzantium, Assisi and Naples) will be analyzed, examining artists, works and buildings that allow us to reconstruct the phenomena of influences, reception and even diffusion of models, styles and themes. Works created by Roman artists outside Rome will also be analyzed, highlighting dynamics of exchange and interaction with local contexts.
