  • Obiettivi: PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE: Knowledge of the Field of Competence of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, of the Individual Rehabilitation Project (IRP) and functional programs, of the role of the physiatrist and other professionals involved in the PRI, with specific application in physical activity aimed at promoting health. INTERNAL MEDICINE: The training objectives of the course are aimed to understand the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of several pathologies, including metabolic and cerebrovascular disorders. In addition, some of the main mechanisms regulating these pathologies, such as oxidative stress, aging and microbiota, will be explained. Moreover, the importance of physical activity in the management of the previous reported diseases will be evaluated. The course will allow the student to recognize and describe in-depth pathologies, but also critically to evaluate which exercises to recommend depending on the reported pathology. ENDOCRINOLOGY: Endocrinology is the study of intercellular communications. The main purpose of this course is to assist the students in understanding the new concepts of hormone action counteracted by physiological responses restoring the system to equilibrium. The course is aimed to review the receptor and intracellular signaling as well as aspects of the transcriptional regulation in order to define the major physiologic processes controlled by hormones, including growth and maturation, intermediary metabolism and reproduction. The pathophysiology and management of the diseases affecting hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, pancreatic islets, adrenal gland, testis and ovary will be also addressed.
