- Prerequisiti: Basic knowledge of Italian art in the modern age; ability to operate the stylistic analysis of a work of art.
- Obiettivi: LEARNING OUTCOMES: knowledge of the main aspects of the History of Dutch and Flemish Art in Rome between the 16th and 17th centuries; ability to read and interpret works of art, artistic geographies, to read and interpret primary sources of the modern age, to perform literature searches autonomous (also using electronic resources), and rebuild the critical debate about the individual authors and contexts; development of related critical skills, also in relation to the other disciplines of the Degree Course. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: basic knowledge of artistic activity of Dutch and Flemish artists who worked in Rome in the 16th and 17th centuries; comparison with the Roman figurative and collecting context. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: mastery of the disciplin's specific terminology; skill in relating and comparing several works of art and artists, highlighting their differences as well as the elements of continuity and innovation. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: well-structured knowledge of the examined works of art, being able to recognize and contextualize them as well as to carry out an iconographic, stylistic and iconological analysis. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: ability to explain the learned contents in a coherent and concise manner; ability to communicate the knowledge both in terms of substance and method, using the specialized vocabulary of the studies in the field. LEARNING SKILLS: ability to apply the method acquired in the art-historical investigation to other authors, works and contexts than those dealt with in class; ability to acquire a method of study based on the specificity of the discipline of art history aimed to interpret and comment analytically works and contexts of the early modern age.
