Obiettivi: The Course aims to allow the student to develop an understanding of the pharmacology and medicinal chemistry behind some of the most important classes of medicines that are currently prescribed. The first part of the course deals with fundamental concepts and methods in molecular pharmacology and protein structure. Students will study the major classes of drug targets, their role in signalling systems that lead to changes in cell and tissue function, and thus how their modulation can influence patient health. The second part of the course builds on these fundamental principles through the in-depth study of the pharmacology and medicinal chemistry.
