Obiettivi: LEARNING OUTCOMES: To provide the knowledge necessary for managing innovation within an organization, in line with the ISO 56000 family of standards, with a particular focus on technological innovation. Furthermore, to provide the knowledge required for project management, especially as a tool for developing technological innovation strategies, in accordance with national standards (UNI 11648, Italian Institute of Project Management standards) and international standards (UNI ISO 21500, Project Management Institute standards). KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: The course provides knowledge and understanding of: - The role of innovation within organizations; - The main sources of innovation; - Enabling and disruptive technologies, such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and additive manufacturing; - The strategic value of technology in business and industrial contexts; - Strategic approaches to innovation management and methods for selecting innovation projects; - Technological innovation processes and their impact on competitiveness, business models, and company performance; - Evaluation, selection, and adoption of technologies based on operational and strategic needs; - Collaboration strategies and mechanisms for protecting innovation; - Organization of innovation processes and management of new product development; - The role of projects within organizations, the project-based work environment, and the main organizational approaches to managing projects; - The fundamental processes and tools for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing a project, with particular attention to the integrated management of scope, time, cost, quality, risk, human resources, procurement, stakeholders, and communications; - Principles and tools of agile project management methodologies; - Key national and international standards for innovation and project management. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: At the end of the course, students will be able to: - Identify potential sources of innovation, contribute to defining the company��s innovation strategy, assess the appropriateness of collaboration strategies, select suitable methods for evaluating innovation projects, understand the organization of innovation processes, and identify the most appropriate mechanisms for protecting innovation; - Understand how to organize an innovation process and identify the best method for evaluating and selecting an innovative project; - Perform project initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure, ensuring effective management of key project parameters (scope, time, cost, resources, risk), also with the support of project management software tools; - Apply operationally the acquired knowledge regarding innovation processes, enabling technologies, project management methodologies (both traditional and agile), and the main regulatory standards in the field of innovation and project management. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: The course supports the development of independent judgement by encouraging students to analyze case studies and propose specific solutions. It also fosters critical thinking through exposure to multiple perspectives, including lecturers, contributions from industry experts, and peer discussions. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: The course enhances the ability to: - Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using appropriate technical terminology; - Use tools for project planning and control; - Interact with industry professionals, supported by guest lectures and contributions from business experts during the course. LEARNING SKILLS: The course develops the ability to: - Read and understand academic-level scientific texts and technical standards in both Italian and English; - Use software manuals and technical documentation for project and innovation management tools.
