  • Obiettivi: LEARNING OUTCOMES: This course module provides an overview of the technologies involved in the multimedia application evolution from analogue to digital, from linear television to video on demand. To this aim, the module addresses the main TV standards, the TCP/IP protocols involved in the modern streaming services, the network architectures and the different service modes. The course aims to provide an introduction to multimedia signals, explaining the main methods of digitalization, coding and transmission. Theory, design techniques, algorithms and systems. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: At the end of the course the student will have to know the main techniques and paradigms of multimedia communications, together with an exhaustive view of the involved protocols in different application scenarios.
