  • Metodi di valutazione: Scritto E Orale
  • Prerequisiti: The achievement of the learning outcomes needs a pre-existing knowledge about some topics of general physics and electromagnetism, quantum physics, mathematical methods for physics and of some subjects of condensed matter physics. In particular: geometrical and physical optics, photoelectric effect, electronic bases, signals analysis, statistics. Moreover, basic programming and data reduction.
  • Obiettivi: LEARNING OUTCOMES: The course is meant to provide an advanced competence in Physics, with knowledge on advanced topics in the recent Physics research, in particular on the techniques for Astrophysical measurements KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Students must achieve a deep understanding of the most relevant theories of modern Physics and the associated experimental problems. They must also achieve a god comprehension of the state of the art in at least one present-day specialization in Astrophisics. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Students must be able to identify the key elements of a complex physical problem, and be able to model it, with sensible approximations. They must be able to adapt existing models to new experimental data. They must be able to comprehend and critically evaluate research papers in Astrophysics published on scientific journals. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: Students must be able to autonomously run experiments, computations and numerical simulations. They must be able to perform bibliographic researches and to autonomously select the relevant results, in particular on the Web. They must achieve an appropriate level of awareness in research and in the related professional activities. This capabilities are achieved through the study to prepar for the exams, during the laboratory activities and examining in depth specific topics by critically analyzing journal papers. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Students must be able to work in an interdisciplinary group. They must be able to present their own research or the results of a bibliographic research both to the experts and to amateurs
