Practical and laboratory lessons
A. The planetary scanner: technical approach to the machine, conformation of the scanner and description of its parts, first approach to the scanning software. The camera, the lens, the lights; export and save formats; the different types of support (glossy, opaque, transparencies, etc.), lighting, exposure, software (Metis);
B. Advanced scanning techniques: finger removal, light correction, margins and book mode, interleaving, automatic cropping, straightening and other functions useful for clean acquisition of text pages;
C. Using FineReader for optical character recognition
D. Introduction and use of oXygen for text markup
