Introduction to photography: techniques, lenses, the shooting process, etc… C. Text scanning, FineReader and OCR software (use and characteristics) D. Notions of codicology and philology applied to digital editions E. Guided visits to digitalisation laboratories outside the University   Practical and laboratory lessons A. The planetary scanner: technical approach to the machine, conformation of the scanner and description of its parts, first approach to the scanning software. The camera, the lens, the lights; export and save formats; the different types of support (glossy, opaque, transparencies, etc.), lighting, exposure, software (Metis); B. Advanced scanning techniques: finger removal, light correction, margins and book mode, interleaving, automatic cropping, straightening and other functions useful for clean acquisition of text pages; C. Using FineReader for optical character recognition D. Introduction and use of oXygen for text markup
