Programme Comparative Theatrical Cultures A:

The course offers an introduction to performance studies, an interdisciplinary field that uses the concept of "performance" as a lens to analyze a broad spectrum of human actions ranging from everyday life, performing arts, and ritual to public behavior and social media. This methodological lens will be used to examine, among others, significant episodes of performance art practices. The lectures might be complemented by  exercises and discussions in which students will apply, alone or in groups, the tools and concepts learned during the course to different cultural and artistic phenomena.
