Programme Population, Environment And Landscape A:

Starting from the epistemological foundation of Geography, the evolution of geographical thought through the various schools will be considered. Attention will then be paid to the relationship between population and resources (in particular food and energy resources), and then focus on the relationship between Geography and sustainable development (Geography and the environment; environmental sustainability policies in the governance perspectives of the second millennium; the pillars of sustainable development; from Rio De Janeiro to Rio De Janeiro; from COP 21 to COP 23, the 2030 agenda). Finally, the relationship between landscape and tourism development policies will be considered (with particular attention to the relationship between agro-food production, landscape and tourism) through specific topics such as the economy of the environment and landscape as new opportunities for sustainable development; landscape as an instrument of synthesis between the environment, agro-food production and tourism policies; regulatory aspects of landscape; case studies and pilot actions for new forms of sustainable tourism linked to the agro-food sector.
