  • Prerequisites: Students should be familiar with the develpment of German lLiterature of the 18th and 19th century. A knowledge of the German language at level B1/B2 is required.
  • Objectives: LEARNING OUTCOMES In line with the educational objectives of the Study Programme stated in the CdS, the training activity aims at providing the student with the following knowledge and skills: KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING Students are expected to show a good knowledge of the history of German Literature from Lessing to the late Realism as well as adequate understanding of the historical and cultural context and of the texts indicated in the bibliography. Students should be familiar with the features of detective literature and with the detective novels indicated in the bibliography. They should also be able to read and understand literary texts in German. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING Students should develop autonomy and flexibility in reading and understanding literary texts of the above mentioned periods in relation to their historical and literary context. Furthermore, they should get insight into form and content of the texts dealing with issues related to the topic of the course. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: Students should slowly develop autonomous critical opinions about the texts they are expected to read and they should be able to support their positions by textual evidence. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Students should be able to explain pretty clearly the context of the texts of the programme and to analyse them in a proper technical language. LEARNING SKILLS: Students should be able to work autonomously and/or in groups, and to search for information from a variety of academically relevant electronic sources, including standard reference works on the course contents in order to create conceptual maps or other forms of individual elaboration enabling effective learning.
