  • Prerequisites: owledge of the historical development of German Literature from 18th to 20th century, of the most significant authors and of their most important texts. Students should be familiar with the different types of approach to literary analysis. A knowledge of German equivalent to B1+/B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required.
  • Objectives: LEARNING OUTCOMES: In line with the educational objectives of the Study Program stated in the CdS, the training activity aims at providing the student with the following knowledge and skills: KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Students are expected to show a good knowledge of Goethe's Faust of the most famous versions of the myth of Faust before Goethe and of Robert Walser's texts. They should be able to relate text and context with reference to Goethes Lebenswerk and to Swiss-Germn Literature. A fairly good use of the German language in oral form is required. Good knowledge of the various types of approach to Goethe's Faust ad to Walser's texts. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Students should develop autonomy and flexibility in reading Goehte's Faust and other versions of the this myth in their historical and literary contexts. A fairly good critical approach to literary tests is required. In general, they should be able to read and understand literary texts in German.
