VITTORIO FOGLIETTI CURRICULUM VITAE

CNR (SPIN) Superconductors, oxides and other innovative materials and devices Via del Politecnico 1 00133 Roma Italy Stdi : • 1982 Laurea degree in Physics at University of Rome “La Sapienza”. • Senior member IEEE.

Esperienze di lavoro:

• From February 1984, he is research staff member at the Istituto di Elettronica dello Stato Solido (IESS) of the National Research Council (CNR). • In 1988 and 1993 he was visiting scientist at the IBM T.J. Watson laboratories, NY, USA. • Since 2006 he is “Dirigente di Ricerca” of the CNR. • In 2012 he has been researcher at CNR- Istituto di Struttura della Materia (CNR-ISM) in Montelibretti. • Since 2015 he joined CNR-SPIN Tor Vergata.

Esperienze di insegnamento :

• 1990-1992 Non tenure contract Professor in physics course , Molise University. • 1999-2001 Non tenure contract Professor in Fundamentals of electronics, University of Rome III. • 2012-Today Teaching Instructor, PhD course in Fundamentals of Microfabrication University of Rome III. • 2017 Non tenure professor in Physics II course, University Tor Vergata.

Ricerca:

• From January 1982- March 1986 he was involved in characterization of superconducting devices (dc-SQUIDs) fabricated with thin film technology, collaborating in the detection of weak magnetic signals generated by the human hearth (Biomagnetism). • studied the noise of dc-SQUIDs at low frequency, identifying the source of noise due to fluctuation of critical current in the two Josephson junctions. • worked on the development and characterization of superconducting devices fabricated with the new ceramic superconducting materials. He was also involved in electrical measurements on epitaxial films on Y-Ba-Cu-O. • 1998-2001 he was responsible for the activity of atomic force microscopy at IFN-CNR. He coordinated various exploratory activities towards the fabrication of nanostructures by means of non-conventional lithographic techniques, which use technologies of micromechanics. • 2000-2011 he was responsible of development of sensors using micromachining technology for various applications, including measurements of fundamental physical phenomena. • Since 2012 he worked on Pulsed Laser Deposition and characterization of magnetic materials. • Since 2015 he joined SPIN CNR Tor Vergata working on transport properties of perovskites for SOFC applications. • He has been responsible for CNR of various international research project: a) EUREKA-UMIC project for echographic applications; b) STREP program “MUSTWIN” of the VI European Framework; c) Marie Curie Program “PROMINAS”, Prototyping in micro and nanoscale.
